YALSA Releases Great Graphic Novels for Teens Nominations

Great Graphic Novels for Teens is a list of recommended graphic novels and illustrated nonfiction for those ages 12-18, prepared yearly by the American Library Association's (ALA's) Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA).

Designed to aid YA librarians with graphic novel collections, the list presents graphic novels published in the past 16 months, selected for proven or potential appeal to the personal reading tastes of teens.

The complete nominations include a variety of terrific titles published over the past year, such as Automatic Pictures’ Hatter M volume 2 (9780981873718), Marvel’s Secret Invasion (9780785132974), Dark Horse’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8 Volume 3 (9781595821652), Image’s I Kill Giants (9781607060925) and many others. The complete list of nominees is available here.

The final list of this year’s recommended titles is set to premiere at the 2010 ALA Midwinter Meeting which will take place in Boston, MA from Jan 15–18. To read more about the Great Graphic Novels for Teens Committee, and to see the previous lists, please visit the official website.
